The big 1962 Mercury promos are very hard to find in anything other than the common red color, and this dark metallic Burgundy is probably the nicest color of them all! It looks a little lighter in most of these photos than it really is; see the overhead rear and the straight-on driver's side rear quarter view for the closest impression of the real color. The model has no damage or repairs to the windshield or vent posts, and is in very good condition.

However, it's not perfect - on the hood, a few drops of something got on it over the years, and left some faint circular marks. I could not make them show up in the photos, and a light polishing has minimized them to where they barely show - but they are there. The rest of the body was lightly polished here and there to make it all look even, and there still may be a few faint scratches (but nothing through the finish).

On the top of the passenger side windshield header (see photos), there is what appears to be a little bit of silver paint - probably factory, and probably got on there when the rocker panels were painted (these were done in silver by AMT). The chrome on the wheels and bumpers is original and in very good condition, with only moderate wear. The original taillight bezels and fender ornaments have been replated, though I think the taillights were replaced by reproductions from the Modelhaus at that time. So while this may not be a perfect car, it is a very, very nice example of a very hard-to-find promo , so don't miss out!
